A lifelong resident of Green Oak Township is seeking a trustee spot on the township board.

Devin Steele, of Whitmore Lake, graduated from Brighton Area High School and has a bachelor of arts degree in theological studies from Hope College.

He works as a civilian police administrator for the Detroit Police Department.

As a member of the township board, Steele says he would work on protecting the township’s natural beauty and preserving its rural character from overdevelopment; addressing traffic concerns with the County, and increasing transparency by establishing a Board of Ethics.

There are four township trustee spots to be filled in the Nov. 5 election. Steele and Sarah Pearsall are the only Democrats running. Although four spots are to be filled, voters can increase the chances of victory for Steele and Pearsall by voting only for them and leaving the other spots blank.
