Sound Off to Our Elected Officials!
Pressuring our elected officials is especially critical in these times.
Events are moving fast, and it’s hard to keep up.
Below are some ideas for writing postcards or making phone calls to elected officials. Phone lines are often jammed so if you can’t get through, take a few minutes to send a postcard on one of these topics.
Postcard Prompts for week of Feb. 10, 2025

Thank you for holding the floor for 30 hours last week to stall the vote confirming Russell Vought for director of OMB. Thank you also for voting against him. Please continue to delay confirmation of Trump nominees as much as possible, especially Kash Patel, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard. Don’t make it easy for Trump to dismantle our government!
Rep. Tom Barrett, 328 W Ottawa St, Suite A, Lansing, MI 48933, Phone: (517) 993–0510, 202–225–4872
Elon Musk has no business accessing my personal information held by the federal government. No one voted for him. Why have you said nothing about this breach of security and my privacy? Please support the Taxpayer Data Protection Act to keep my data away from the hands of Elon Musk and his band of unvetted computer nerds. https://jeffries.house.gov/2025/02/06/taxpayer-data-protection-act/
Donald Trump, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20500 Phone: 202–456–1111
Your administration is lying about our efforts to help other nations. Your press secretary’s list of reasons for ending aid to other countries have all been debunked. Many children will be going hungry or without critical medicine while American farmers will not be paid for billions of dollars for food that was supposed to be sent overseas. China will step in instead. You are making us weaker. Restore the aid!

Please vote against HR 22. Requiring a birth certificate or passport will make it much harder for many citizens to register to vote or change their registration when they move because many people don’t have ready access to those documents. It will be especially hard on married women because birth certificates don’t have their married name. This is a voter suppression bill that will disenfranchise many of your constituents — especially women!
