A Brighton Township woman is running to be Livingston County register of deeds.

Julie Haragenrader is the only Democrat seeking the position.

Julie Hargenrader is running for register of deeds.

“I am running because the County needs someone with a strong work ethic in the job,” she said.

“Over my long career, I have gained experience in accounting, customer service, regulatory compliance, and licensing, precisely the skills a registrar requires.”

The main job of the Register of Deeds is to record all presented public records and index them into a searchable database, and then preserve them. This helps protect individual property rights by keeping a record of who owns what property.

Hargenrader has been an active community volunteer, a mentor of local mothers, and a religious education teacher at St. Mary Magdalen Church.

(Paid for by Livingston County Democratic Executive Committee, 8028 Grand River, Woodland Plaza Suite 7, Brighton, MI 48114. Labor donated.)
