Hamburg Economist Seeks Livingston Treasurer Post
A Hamburg Township resident who helped run an economic consulting firm is running for Livingston County tresurer.
Dan Luria, an economics researcher, was the chief financial offier of a $10 million consulting firm in the 2000s.
“I am running to insulate the treasurer’s office from interference by the extreme right-wing county commissioners,” he said.
“The county has amassed tens of millions of dollars in special funds, invisible to the citizens, much of which could and should be deployed to fund more services for seniors, more LETS routes, and incentives for builders to construct more affordable housing.”
Luria is the Democratic nominee for county treasurer.
He has been a county resident for 38 years.
