Green Oak Woman Seeks Spot on Township Board
A Green Oak woman with 18 years of experience on township committees is seeking to be elected as a township trustee.
Sarah Pearsall said she wants to give voters a choice in November.
“In local government we need a more diverse representation of the citizens in our Township,” she said.
“I have been involved in the local government for many years and feel I can bring all that knowledge and understanding of our goals for what Green Oak will look like in the future and the direction we are going.”
Pearsall has served on the Green Oak Charter Township Planning Commission and as the commission’s representative to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a total of 18 years. “My involvement in the community is very important to me,” she said.
Pearsall said the township issues are not partisan. “Finding ways to get more affordable housing in the township is one of my goals. We need homes and communities where our people can live, especially people who provide services to us such as firefighters, police, and so on,” she said.
Walkable neighborhoods is another issue, as is the need for more support from the county on infrastructure, roads, and sewers, she said.
A resident of the county for 52 years, Pearsall enjoys hiking in Island lake Recreation area. She attended Cleary University for two years where she took classes in computer program. She holds several certificates in program management from Villanova University. She and her partner, Dave, have been together for 34 years.
Pearsall is retired from General Motors, where she worked in program management.
Pearsall is one of two Democrats running for Green Oak Township trustee. The other is Devin Steele.
