A retired educator is running for a position on the Brighton Charter Township board.

Lee Anzicek is the sole Democrat running in the Nov. 5 election for township trustee.

Lee Anzicek is running to be Brighton Township trustee.

“As a resident of Brighton Charter Township, I would like to see more cooperation among homeowners’ associations, and possibly townships, for services such as street maintenance and trash collection to achieve economies of scale, better rates and better service, and to get more projects done sooner,” he said.

“I would also like to see more aggressive environmental protection, starting with much broader PFAS testing.”

Anzicek is a former president of the Harvest Hills Homeowners’ Association and the current chair of the Crossroads Sierra Club.

He has been active in the Livingston County branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters for 15 years and is a former administrator in the Allen Park school district.

Anzicek is the only Democrat running. Although there is more than one trustee position open, supporters can increase his chances by voting only for him and leaving the other positions vacant.
